This Weaks Training

16 Oct

I’ve set a goal to do the Publix Fort Lauderdale A1A Marathon Feb 16th. It has been a few years since my last marathon! So training has started.

With the race being 18 weeks away, and the last week or the 18th week being an easy taper week, I have only 17 weeks to prepare. Weeks 7 thru 17 will be consist of one long run of 20 miles and one day of interval or fartlek runs. Weeks 1 thru 6 are build up weeks to get my mileage up to the long run of 20 miles. Each week in the build up consists of an easy recovery run, fartlek run, less than race pace run and an LSD (Long Slow Distance) run increasing the mileage each week.

Along the way I will be doing several races, they are:

Habitat For Humanity Raise The Roof 15k Oct 20

St Matthews House Gobble Gobble 4 Miler Nov 28

Everybody Runs Half Marathon Dec 8

Naples Half Marathon Jan 19

Naples Half Marathon Jan 19

I have been trying to get up early in the morning in order to have a long run. So here are the stats from last week:

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday totals

Bike Hill repeat
