Health Issues, etc

24 Aug

I just had my six month full body scan and the results are in!  I had no tumors and no sign of cancer, which is great.  This means I’ve been cancer free for 6 years!

But on another front, I came home from a Saturday bike ride a few weeks ago to find that I was having a rectal bleed.  Hoping it would go away, I did nothing.  I was still bleeding the next day, so that next Monday I call my internal medicine guy and scheduled a visit.  During that time he and I talked about my years of irritable bowel and the pain associated with it.  He scheduled me for a colonoscopy but also put me on a dairy free diet.  The colonoscopy turned out fine, just a minor polyp, however the dairy free is more than likely the source of my IB, not ulcerative colitis as previously diagnosed.

I’m learning to live dairy free which is not easy for a cheese rat.  I’ve learned to make dairy free lattes with soy milk, by nuking the soy milk then using a frother.

I haven’t gotten accustomed to bland breakfast but I’m trying, like my egg white and prosciutto on an English muffin.

On my egg salad on Panne Biannco.

So I continue to use sunscreen and now I’m trying to be dairy free.  Do you know how much I miss ice cream? Or yogurt?

I do make soy milk smoothies with banana, spinach and the fruit de jour.
Do you have any dietary restrictions?
